My Blaze grill sucks. Doesn’t get hot enough even with the infrared burner. Cooks unevenly. Flares up constantly. Check the temp when cooking, it’s inconsistent everywhere. Don’t be fooled by the looks. It’s cheaper for a reason.

Dude, I love your videos although it makes it tougher for me to decide cause there is so much to choose from. I have a 10 year old WEBER spirit now, but I am strongly thinking of buying either a Napoleon prestige 500 pro ,or a Napoleon prestige 500 (not the pro version). or maybe the Napoleon Phantom. I am just not sure if it is worth the money difference between the prestige and prestige PRO types. I was also looking at the WEBER smart grill too, but I do not like the fact that there is no traditional thermometer on the grill except for the digital one. I have had a camp chef since 2016 and was inspecting it and it is about wore out. Been a really great unit with many cooks, but any unit doesn’t last forever with heat and cool cycles. I am going to be in the market for another one. I like that the Weber goes 600 degrees (good for searing). I’m torn between going back to a camp chef (which has served me very well) or get this.

Topp shelf in Napoleon grills is way to low, I had 525 Rouge, hated it, the grades was shit, unicorn heat, collier outside faded, loos shine after 2 years, the nobs loaded collor to, star to rust, with cover of ourse.

I am not too happy with my Napoleon Rogue 625 heat distribution, I find extreme differences between the front and the back zones, how does this compare to the Wber of the same range? Also, I have heard that Napoleon has come up with some remedies to rectify the issues (saw somewhere someone talking about a redesigned tray to allow more air flow, culd not find any further info on this), do you have any idea about such modifications? ?

The biggest reason I didn't like cast iron was rust. In a wet climate, I had to replace mine every 3-ish years. That or eat rust flakes.

If anyone is looking to buy a Pro, Just get the regular Prestige 500 RSIB-3, just buy the SS upper deck and sear plate (~$170 CAD), and outside of not having the chrome edges of the firebox, you now have a Prestige Pro 500 (in regards to the actual grilling and not the aesthetics that do nothing) The regular Prestige 500 RSIB only comes with a chrome plated Steel upper deck, and a cast iron Searing station grate. There's also a mod that you can make, using the same slit and screw mounting spot of the bar in the lower cart. That bar has no structural benefit. The only reason it's there is to prevent having 2 propane tanks underneath (if you have the propane model), its completely unneccessary if you have the NG version. In regards to people looking at the Pro model and want to spend money, it would be better if they got the phantom with the cast stainless steel grill surfaces (whole other level)

What the BTUs

I bought the phantom a month ago and. I hate it..Wish I kept my 10 year old Weber anniversary edition with sear burner… You constantly have to clean the phantom. The rear burner is horrible. I have 23 wings in the Napoleon basket going on 2 1\2 hours and still no where near done… Does anyone know why you can’t use any burners when the rear one is on??

had my LG big green egg 20 years and it is awesome still.

I have a Weber spirit and I take care of it but 3 years in and the grates rusted , the burner tubes clogged, flavorizors disintegrated. Now Weber was good on service and sent me all the parts as it’s under warranty so I can’t complain but I thought I would get more life out it. Maybe it’s the hot humid Florida weather , but I keep it covered too…

I bought the Ironwood XL today after seeing this video. It has been delivered and I’ve set it up and done the original 60 minute burn in. Tomorrow? Beer Can Chicken. Happy July 4th from Virginia!

I honestly will buy it right now over the Weber because of the propane tank storage. I hate the idea of the tank just hanging off the side.
